North Pole Cupcakes Recipe
Christmas and cupcakes are two of the best things ever! These North Pole cupcakes combine both into one yummy treat. They’re a fun addition to any Winter or Christmas party.
- cake mix and accompanying ingredients: to make 24 cupcakes
- white decorator icing: 4 cups
- red and white striped straws: 12
- sour cherry balls (red or white gumballs will also work): 24
- North Pole flag printable: See below for downloadable GIF
- edible snowflake glitter: for garnish
- Wilton 1M Decorator Tip: 1
- pastry bag: 1
Step 1: Preheat your oven according to your cupcake package or recipe directions. Make the cupcake batter according to package directions.
Step 2: Prepare cupcake pans with 24 red and green cupcake wrappers.
Step 3: Pour batter into the cupcake wrappers, filling each one about ¾ths full. Bake the cupcakes according to the package or recipe directions.
Step 4: Set the cupcakes aside to cool completely.
Step 5: While the cupcakes are cooling cut the each straw in half with a pair of scissors.
Step 6: Use the tip of a knife to carefully poke a hole in each of the sour cherry balls. You could also use red or white gumballs, or gumdrops if you cant find sour cherry candies.
Step 7: Carefully insert the straw into the hole in the cherry candies.
Step 8: Print out 2 sheets of the North Pole flags and cut them apart.
Step 9: Glue the a flag to the top of each straw just below the candies.
Step 10: Add the white decorator icing to a pastry bag with the Wilton 1M decorating tip attached to the end. Fill the bag about half way full of icing to start.
Step 11: Use the Wilton 1M tip to swirl the icing from the outside in on each cupcake.
Step 12: Sprinkle each cupcake liberally with edible snow glitter.
Step 13: Insert a North Pole flag into the top of each cupcake and display on your holiday dessert table.
